David, I have been blessed to be able to see your pictures of the work in Kenya, and to read your subtitles on each picture. It is so fun to see the boys washing clothes in one pic, and the next thing you see is that they are naming animals, sharing their thoughts about what they have read, and then retelling the story in DMS class. You and your parishioners have truly shown the light of Christ in your work there, and I feel so fortunate to know someone so WILLING to reach out to make a difference in the lives of so many. I know that teaching reading may seem so trite, but when you think of the intergenerational influence it creates, and the fact that one person learning to break the code may influence many many people hundreds of years from now is mindboggling. For now, I hope the DMS helps you reach the students, and helps the students understand all written words better. I am praying for your success and your strength, your energy levels, and that others will be moved to join and support you. Also praying that your example will lead us all into a fuller, more faith-led walk. Just think, it may influence your mother and me to come to Kenya and help you out... That would really be one of God's miracles. Blessings. Graham Neuhaus
Yes, Graham, that would truly be one of God's miracles, and it makes me smile. I will go where He leads. Kenya Team, I can't wait to hear about how the students reacted to the DMS teaching and how their regular teachers responded to the methods. Very exciting! Blessings and safe travel, Laurie
